Why is it called Judevine?
When the funds ran out at the Social Exchange Lab at Washington University, and the parents helped to move the program out into the community, the new center needed a name. St. Louis Center for Autism? Too governmental. The Autism Institute of Eastern Missouri? Doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. Then one day someone on the committee asked founder Lois Blackwell what her maiden name was, she responded, “Judevine, why do you ask?”
