Residential Services

Judevine Center for Autism currently supports individuals with autism spectrum disorders in 26 different living arrangements throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area. Around-the-clock support is available for persons, as needed. Staff-to-client ratios tend to be 1:1 to 1:3. Treatment within residential services is largely individualized, but in general emphasizes the following: enhancing communication skills, decreasing challenging behaviors, increasing independence, teaching skills that reflect the normal rhythm of life, and fostering community membership.

We invite you to participate in a "Shower" for the indivduals in Residential Services. The people we support are in need of household items and we are asking for your help. It's easy to do. Here's How

Supported Living Arrangements and Group Homes
The goal for supported living is to foster maximum independence for the individual served within his or her own community. Services and supports are driven by the individual needs and desired personal outcomes of the persons who reside in each supported living arrangement.

Host Families
Judevine can support a person with autism in a host home with a family specially trained to support the needs of a person with autism spectrum disorder while maintaining relationships with their natural families.

Support Neighbor
Judevine has created a unique model for individuals who require minimal support to live in their home and community. In this model, a support staff (who lives next door – a "paid neighbor") is available to the individual with autism spectrum disorder to provide assistance as needed for the person to maintain his or her independence in his community.

Therapeutic Residential School
Judevine Center for Autism offers a therapeutic residential school for students with autism spectrum disorders.  Each student’s educational program is developed individually based upon his or her strengths, needs, interests and learning style.  Collaboration and active participation among Judevine staff, the contracting school district or agency, and the parents is integral to the success of this transitional program.  Instruction is provided across environments – home, school, and community -- in order to ensure acquisition as well as generalization of target skills.  A team approach to treatment is provided, which includes support from various professional disciplines, such as Speech/Language Pathology, Music Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Behavioral Psychology, and Social Work.
